The American White House

Do you ever have so much to say that you’re practically silenced by your inability to choose what to write about?

That’s what I’ve been dealing with for the last few months. Most of my thoughts have been politically charged. My inner monologue has been inundated with WTF moments from both the American and British political spheres. In an effort to not turn my blog into a gigantic cesspool of anger and confusion, I have chosen to just not write anything at all.

As my mom taught me, if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.

I don’t post (many) political things on my private social media accounts. I’m just too tired to keep battling it out over my liberal views with conservative friends and family members on a daily basis. At this point I know that nobody will be changing their viewpoints on either side, so why argue about it?

There is enough division all over the world; why keep adding to it?

Voting is more important than you think

I do however think it’s important to get out and VOTE. No matter what your political views, no matter what party your subscribe to, your vote does matter. As we saw in the 2016 election, those of you who did not vote because you didn’t think it would matter could have drastically changed the outcome of the last 3 years.

VOTE. The political divide in America is worse than ever (Britain too, if you didn’t know). The 2020 elections are your chance to change our country for the better. If you can’t make it to the polls because of lack of transportation, ask someone to take you with them.

And while I’ve got you here, please stop voting against your best interests. Aren’t you tired of tax breaks for the 1%, and tax increases for the low and middle class? Are you tired of cuts to programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, SSI, and Social Security? Aren’t you tired of your health insurance premiums blowing through the roof? If so, please vote BLUE. And DEMOCRATS, yes I’m calling you out, too. Stop the infighting. For all of you who are Bernie or Bust, don’t completely opt out of the election process if he is not the Democratic nominee. It makes us all look like a bunch of idiots and leads to the problems that we’ve got in the White House now.

I’m stepping off my soapbox

That’s all I am going to say on the matter, because let’s face it; I’m tired. This post could have been more thought out and poetic, but I needed to just clear brain space to think of other things to entertain you with. If any of you reading this feel the urge to call me names like libtard, snowflake, deplorable, or whatever you’ve got in that very limited vocabulary; save it. I will just delete your comments.

Until next time,

BRAVO! That’s right folks if you have nothing nice to say then say nothing at all. Yes, this is Mom! I am So Very Proud that Amanda was brave enough to put this out there and call people out for not voting. YES IT DOES MATTER IF YOU DON’T VOTE! What we’ve always believed in the family and friends group is….. If you DON’T VOTE then You Don’t have the right to complain later…. no matter which way you feel. Please Vote. Love You, Mom <3
